This fall, our organization is planning for two very exciting new things!!! Both of these new things will allow us to serve more teens, women, men, families and babies!

A SATELLITE CENTRE TO SERVE SOUTH GEORGIAN BAY!

This video, which highlights the stories of two wonderful families we have served at our Barrie centre, also explains why we are opening a satellite centre in downtown Collingwood to serve Collingwood, Blue Mountain, Clearview, Stayner, Nottawa, Wasaga Beach and the surrounding South Georgian Bay Community.

We are so excited to announce that the satellite centre will open for its first day on Wednesday, September 26th!!!

The centre is located at 112 Hurontario Street, in downtown Collingwood. For the privacy of the teens, women and men we serve, we are using the rear-entrance of the building, located off Pine Street, between Second and Third Street. We are so grateful to Living Faith Christian Church for generously allowing us to locate in their building!

The South Georgian Bay satellite centre will be open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am – 3pm. In the future, we will expand these hours. In the meantime, we are pleased to arrange after-hours appointments with anyone who cannot visit during these hours.

If you live in the South Georgian Bay area and are looking for support about a pregnancy related challenge, please call or text the centre at 705-220-5773. If you have questions about the new centre, or how to be involved, contact info@envisagepregnancy.ca.

A NEW NAME!

As we open the new satellite location in South Georgian Bay, we realize that our current name “Barrie Pregnancy Resource Centre” is geographically limiting. As a registered charity, we need to operate by our legal name – but it is odd to call a centre located in Collingwood the “Barrie Pregnancy Resource Centre”.  And in the future we hope to serve more communities around us. We are also moving towards a more “mobile” way of serving, recognizing that people in communities and rural areas around us are not always able to travel to us. Additionally, we have recognized for some time that some teens, women, men or couples are not always comfortable walking into our centre because the word “pregnancy” is so prominent on our logo and sign and they do not yet want anyone to know they might be pregnant – especially if they are still considering their pregnancy options.

The solution to these challenges became obvious to us this spring … find a new name that describes who we are and also gives a message of HOPE to anyone who might be considering accessing support at the centre.

We are excited to say that we have decided on a name and the government is currently processing our paperwork to make the name-change legal!

Please watch for updates at the end of October, when we will announce the NEW NAME!!!!

In the meantime, we would be so grateful for your prayer and support of the centre. Our team is busy serving many families and excited about the opportunity to serve so many more in the future!!!

Thank you!
